CSK register 1st win in IPL 2022
In the 22nd match of IPL 2022, Chennai Super Kings(CSK) registered their first win by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 23 runs in Mumbai. Playing first after losing the toss, CSK made a huge score of 216/4 in 20 overs. Shivam Dubey made 95 and Robin Uthappa played brilliant innings of 88 runs. In reply, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 193/9 in 20 overs.
RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bowl first and Suyash Prabhudesai and Josh Hazlewood were included in the team in place of Harshal Patel and David Willey. CSK did not have a good start and Ruturaj Gaikwad (17) for 19 in the fourth over and Moeen Ali (3) was dismissed for 36 in the seventh over.
From here Robin Uthappa took over the team with Shivam Dube and the score reached 100 in 13 overs. Robin Uthappa completed his fifty in 33 balls in the 15th over, while Shivam Dubey also completed his fifty in 30 balls. The century partnership between the two was completed in the 16th over and in the 17th over, CSK crossed the 150 mark.
Even after this, both of them continued to bat and took the team beyond 200 in the 19th over itself. For the third wicket, there was a tremendous partnership of 165 runs between the two. Robin Uthappa scored 88 runs in 50 balls with the help of 9 sixes and 4 fours. On the score of 201 in the 19th over, he was run by Wanindu Hasaranga and Ravindra Jadeja (0) was also dismissed on the very next ball.
Shivam Dubey played a brilliant innings of 95 runs in 46 balls with the help of 8 sixes and 5 fours and took the team beyond 210. Mahendra Singh Dhoni remained unbeaten without playing the ball. For RCB, Wanindu Hasaranga took two and Josh Hazlewood took one wicket.

In response to the big target, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a poor start and four wickets had fallen by the score of 50 in the seventh over. Faf du Plessis 8, Anuj Rawat 12, Virat Kohli 1 and Glenn Maxwell got out after scoring 26 runs. Shahbaz Ahmed (27 balls 41) with Suyash Prabhudesai (18 balls 34) added 60 runs for the fifth wicket and took the team past 100 in the 11th over.
However, the dismissal of Suyash for 110 in the 13th over and Shahbaz for 133 in the 15th over dealt a big blow to RCB’s hopes of victory. In the 16th over, Wanindu Hasaranga (7) and Akash Deep (0) were dismissed on the score of 146. Dinesh Karthik played a brilliant innings of 34 runs in 14 balls, but he was also dismissed for 171 in the 18th over.
Mohammad Siraj (14*) and Josh Hazlewood (7*) took the team past 190. Maheesh Theekshana took the maximum four wickets for CSK. Apart from them, Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets and Mukesh Chaudhary and Dwayne Bravo took one wicket each.
