In September, the New Zealand cricket team had captured all the headlines after refusing to play against Pakistan at the last moment. The Kiwis arrived in Pakistan for a limited-overs tour and had also completed their quarantine period. However, just a few hours before the commencement of the first game between the two sides, the Blackcaps denied playing citing security reasons.

Following the withdrawal by New Zealand, England also canceled their limited-overs tour to Pakistan due to security reasons only. Thus, there was a feeling of anger amidst the Pakistan fans against the Kiwi team. As the Men in Green won the T20 match against Kane Williamson’s team a handful of the Pakistani fans started chanting security, security to take a dig at the Blackcaps. The video of the entire incident has gone viral on social media.

Meanwhile, after the match against Pakistan, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson also reacted to the whole situation. The NZ skipper added that pulling out from the tour wasn’t intentional and it was a call made by the government and other official authorities. Kane added that the Kiwi players were also disappointed with the way things panned out.

“That was obviously a very unfortunate, disappointing situation for cricket fans and the cricketers, a decision that was outside of the players’ control. But all the guys were there looking forward to that series to start, and unfortunately, it didn’t happen. So it was very disappointing for all involved,” Kane Williamson said on the tour being called off.
