‘Man’s best friend,’ that is how dogs are referred to in our society. Considered as the symbol of loyalty, it won’t be wrong to say that dogs are indeed man’s favorite pet. As far as the Indian cricketers are concerned, there are a lot of top-class players who absolutely adore pets, especially dogs.
Known as stress busters who can make a person forgot about all his troubles and fill him with energy, dogs indeed demand just affection and in return, these creatures shower everything they have from love to loyalty on their masters and caretakers. Here are five Indian cricketers who are avid dog lovers.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Mr. Cool who is known for making the right decisions in tough moments is a dog lover by all means. Known as the most successful captain in India’s cricketing history, MSD has three dogs comprising of a German Shepherd named Sara, a Labrador named Zara, and a Weimaraner named Zoya and he loves spending time with them in his house in Jharkhand.
KL Rahul
Kannur Lokesh Rahul, popularly known as KL Rahul has made his way back into the Indian team. However, he has been through a rough patch, especially in Test cricket a while ago. To kick stress out of the park, the stylish right-handed batsman loves spending time with his dog named Simba. Simba belongs to the Chow-Chow breed.
Hardik Pandya
The ‘flamboyant’ Hardik Pandya loves his pets as well. Hew has two dogs named Aston and Bentley. The star cricketers posted a lot of pictures with his dogs during the lockdown period. Needless to say, they are no less than family members to junior Pandya.
Rohit Sharma
The ‘hitman’ is an absolute superstar of the game. As much as he loves to tonk the ball out of the park while playing the pull shot, the Indian team opener loves showering affection on his pets just as much. Rohit is a PETA supporter and he has a cute little puppy at his home.
Virat Kohli
If there is one man on the list whose love for pets just can’t be ignored, then it has to be the current Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli has adopted as many as 15 pet dogs and he loves taking care of them. Bruno, with who Kohli posted a lot of pictures on his social media handles used to be his constant companion before he left the world in May 2021.
