IPL 2021: Fans to make comeback in stadiums for second phase of tournament
IPL 2021
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to kickstart the remainder of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tournament will run from September 19 to October 15 across three venues namely Abu Dhabi. Dubai and Sharjah.
IPL 2021 initially started in India in April 2021 but the BCCI was forced to suspend the tournament after hosting just 29 games due to the covid-19 scare. It is now learned that after consultation with the Emirates Cricket Board, BCCI has decided to allow the presence of the fans in the stadiums.
Only a limited number of fans will be allowed to watch the games live in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It will be after two years that the cricket fanatics will make a comeback in the stadiums. 2019 was the last season that was played in the presence of the fans in India. Last year, BCCI had hosted the T20 extravaganza in UAE behind closed doors.
