IPL 2021: “Kuch nahi badla” – Twitterati trolls Royal Challengers Bangalore as they bundle out for 92 against Kolkata Knight Riders

AB de Villiers was out for a golden duck off Andre Russell

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsmen produced a disappointing performance against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match 31 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. RCB skipper Virat Kohli, who’s playing his 200th match of the cash-rich league, won the toss and opted to bat first at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

However, his decision didn’t turn out to be fruitful as the Bangalore-based franchise lost quick wickets right from the start of the innings. Opening batsman Devdutt Padikkal emerged as their top-scorer with his knock of 22 runs off 20 deliveries. Apart from him, RCB’s trio of Kohli (5), AB de Villiers (0) and Glenn Maxwell (10) also failed to leave much impact on the scoreboard.

In the end, Kohli’s men could only post a mediocre total of 92 runs (all-out) on the board in 19 overs. Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell emerged as the top wicket-takers for the Knight Riders as they claimed three scalps each. Speedsters Prasidh Krishna (two) and Lockie Ferguson (one) also managed to tick the wickets column.
