Izharulhaq Naveed is an Afghan cricketer who plays for the Band Region in domestic cricket. He was part of the Afghanistan Under-16 team and the Under-19 team. He is currently providing his services to the Sydney Sixers.

Afghanistan has produced top-class cricketers, especially spinners in recent years. Naveed, who is a teenager now, has been bought by franchises in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as well as in the Big Bash League (BBL). In the CPL, he played for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, while in the BBL, he is playing for the Sydney Sixers.

One can find the youngster’s name among the 405 players who have registered for the  Indian Premier League (IPL) auction for the 2023 season. The event will take place on Friday (December 23) in Kochi. He entered the auction with a base price of INR 20 lakh. Naveed debuted for Band Region in first-class matches. His debut match was against Mis Ainak at Khost on November 6, 2022. The 19-year-old has so far played only three matches and scalped eight wickets at an economy of 3.67.

His List-A debut came for Kabul against Nangarhar Province on July 31, 2019, at Amanullah. In seven List-A matches, he scalped eight wickets. His economy rate in List-A cricket is 3.95.

The leg-spinner bowls at an economy of 6.43 in T20 cricket. After playing 12 matches, the youngster scalped 16 wickets. He even has a four-wicket haul in the shortest format.
