Saba Karim, the General manager of BCCI has expressed his views regarding the significance of Jasprit Bumrah in the final of the World Test Championship.

The former Indian Wicket keeper cum BCCI general manager has complete faith over Jasprit Bumrah as the performance of the right arm fast bowler might provide an upper hand for Team India. The 27 year old has the ability of bowling inch perfect yorkers making it difficult for batsman to pick him up. He had shown meteoric rise in the World of cricket as he has already been recognized as the World’s best bowler in all three formats.

Bumrah made his international debut in 2016 against Australia and from then on there was no deterrence in his career run as his standards kept on increasing steadily over the years. Presently he is the one of the three Indian players and only Bowler to be in a category A+ contract of BCCI.

“At this moment, the form Jasprit Bumrah has shown in the last 3-4 IPL matches, I have full belief that if Jasprit Bumrah shows good form in the World Test Championship match, our chances will increase significantly,” Karim was quoted as saying during a segment on India News.

Bumrah has played 19 international test matches and has amassed 83 wickets already. He has constantly provided breakthroughs and put the batsman under pressure.

“Jasprit Bumrah is the premier pace bowler of the Indian team at the moment and he is a player who represents India in multiple formats. So, he always has the pressure to perform and to remain fit. Bumrah has always performed in Test matches. He is a unique type of bowler, it is very difficult to pick him,” he said.

The present Indian pace bowling unit featuring in the Indian Test squad for WTC finals consist of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah. Though Bumrah is the youngest among the unit, he has already established his prominence over other bowlers through the consistent performances showcased by him.

“Along with that he has the pace, he bowls good short deliveries and because of that slowly and steadily Jasprit Bumrah’s dominance in international cricket is going on increasing,” he further added.

India is all set to clash with the Kiwis in the WTC finals in England which is to start from June 18,2021. The Black Caps side has showed its incredible batting strength in the previous test series against Pakistan where they showcased the art of building partnerships and producing mammoth team scores on board. It would definitely be a Test for the Indian Pace bowling unit finding penetration into the unassailable Kiwi batting line up. Indians fans would hope Bumrah exhibits good form throughout this crucial stage and increase India’s chances to win the Inaugural World Test Championship title.
