Lance Morris is an Australian bowler who represents the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League (BBL). In the Sheffield Shield tournament, he plays for Western Australia. He can be pretty dominating with his pace.
The destructive pacer clocked a speed of 153 km/h in first-class cricket in 2021. In a BBL match, he even shattered Shaun Marsh‘s bat in half in early 2020. Some even think Morris is faster than Mitchell Starc.
He was rushed to the Test squad as a replacement for Pat Cummins for a day-night fixture in Adelaide against West Indies. Although he is yet to earn his cap, the franchises in the Indian Premier League will be eager to buy him because of his ability to scare the batters with his pace. He has registered for the IPL 2023 auction at a base price of INR 30 lakh.

He earned the call from Western Australia for the Sheffield Shield in October 2020. But he struggled to cement his spot in the playing XI as he lacked consistency early in his career. But now he is the leading wicket-taker of his team this summer’s season with 27 scalps, including a career-best of 5/36 (against New South Wales). He has improved his skills, can bowl longer spell, and can build pressure.
Morris has been in terrific form in the first-class matches. In just 18 matches, he scalped 59 wickets at an economy of 3.64. While in five List-A cricket, he scalped five wickets. However, his T20 numbers are below par as he just has three scalps from 13 matches.
His first-class debut came against South Australia in October 2020. He made his List-A debut against Tasmania on April 8, 2021. While his T20 debut came in the BBL for the Melbourne Stars against Melbourne Renegades on January 10, 2020.
