‘The most overrated pacer’ – Netizens slam Mitchell Starc as the Aussie star scripts unwanted record in T20 World Cup final

Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc, Australia’s indispensable white ball weapon failed to rise to the occasion at the T20 World Cup 2021 final. As Australia took on New Zealand in a bid to get their hands on their maiden t20 World Cup, Starc had a bad day at the office. The left-arm quick finished with figures of 0-60 as the Kiwis hammered over 120 runs in the final 10 overs.

Starc’s 60 run spell is the most expensive spell in the T20 World Cup finals. The record which was previously owned by the great Lasith Malinga was broken by the Aussie. It was Mitchell Starc’s poor execution that saw the Kiwis ramp up a total of 172, one which looked out of their grasp at the midway stage.

Mitchell Starc, who is renowned for his great death bowling skills was taken to the cleaners by Kane Williamson, who played a stunning innings. The Kiwi skipper smashed Starc for 22 runs in the 16th over to give his side the much-needed momentum. The Aussie was never able to recover from it as he ended giving away 60 runs in his quota of four overs.
