The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the auction list for the 2024 IPL Auction. There are 333 players up for auction, with 119 overseas players. There are only 77 available slots left, with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) having the most with 12. Out of those 77 slots, only 30 are for overseas players. 

There are only three Indian players valued at ₹2 crore, with all being pacers. Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur and Harshal Patel were all released and are now in the auction. Kedar Jadhav, who had priced himself at the same price, was not included in the final shortlist. The Australian pace trio of Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc are all in the auction as well, with each with the base price of ₹2 crore as well.

As of now, the team with the highest budget is Gujarat Titans (GT) with ₹38.15 crore, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) with ₹34 crore. Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) have the lowest budget with ₹13.15 crore. LSG, CSK, SRH and RCB have the least slots available, with 6 each. KKR have 12 slots available and have ₹32.7 crore with them as well. 

World Cup stars expected to make big bucks 

Travis Head, the Man of the Match in the World Cup finals, has found himself in the first set. Rachin Ravindra, the breakout star, is also a player that is expected to earn loads in the auction. Only 2 players from associate teams have been included in the auction, Paul van Meekeren and David Wiese.

Harry Brook, who was purchased for ₹13.25 crore by SRH but then released, is also in the auction list. Afghani pace all-rounder, Azmattullah Omarzai, scored 353 runs and took 7 wickets in the World Cup, and he is also priced at just ₹50 Lakh. 

The auction will be conducted in Dubai on 19th December. It will be telecasted on JioCinema (online) and Star Sports (television). It is scheduled to start at 1 pm local time which translates to 2:30 in India.
