ISRO breaks Virat Kohli’s record after becoming the first space agency to land on lunar south pole

ISRO's tweet broke a record held by Virat
On the evening of August 23rd, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) became the first space agency to successfully achieve soft landing on the lunar south pole. On a budget smaller than most Hollywood and Bollywood films, ISRO managed to send a lander and a rover to the surface of the moon.
After landing, ISRO posted on X about their achievement and the replies were filled with Indians celebrating the landing with joy. Little did ISRO know that in 24 hours that tweet will become the most liked Indian X post with 839.5k likes.
Virat Kohli previously had the most liked post on the social media site. He had posted pictures of him and the Indian team after they beat Pakistan in the 2022 ICC T20I World Cup. In that same game, Kohli had scored an iconic 82* off 53. That post had 796.2k Likes.

Cricketers celebrate ISRO Landing on the lunar south pole
As ISRO was preparing to soft land the Vikaram Lander, millions around the world paid attention to India as they became the first nation to land on the lunar south pole. The Indian team in Ireland had surrounded a TV and watched the ISRO live stream of the landing.
Cricketers such as Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, etc also congratulated ISRO and the nation on X.

ISRO will now launch the L1 mission on 2nd September. On the same day, India will be facing the Pakistan in their first game in the 2023 Asia Cup.
