While Animal was seen as a very controversial film due to the glorification of misogyny and violence, many people were left impressed by Ranbir Kapoor’s performance, calling it the one of the only positives in the film. Thanks to his performance, Yuvraj Singh has decided that if there was any biopic on his life, it should star Kapoor.

In an interview with The Times of India, Singh revealed that he wanted Kapoor to play him in a biopic. He added that it was the director’s call in the end, but fans should be ready for good news.

I recently watched Animal and I think Ranbir Kapoor would be the right fit for my biopic. But eventually, it’ll be the director’s call. We’re definitely working on it and will have some good news soon.

According to reports, Aamir Khan‘s production house had purchased the rights to Singh’s biopic. The production house has produced iconic films like Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par, Delhi Belly and Dangal. This isn’t the first time Singh would be portrayed on the big screen as well.

Herry Tangiri played a young Singh in ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. The movie showed the two meeting for the first time during the 1999/2000 Cooch Behar Trophy final, where the southpaw scored 358. That was the highest score in the tournament’s history before Karnataka’s Prakhar Chaturvedi broke the record recently. A biopic for his former captain, Sourav Ganguly, is also in the works.

Yuvraj Singh excited as he claims future of Indian cricket is in safe hands

On 15th January, Prakhar Chaturvedi scored 404 runs in 638 balls in the Cooch Behar Trophy finals against Mumbai. He broke Yuvraj Singh’s 24-year old record with that knock and thanks to that Karnataka were crowned champions. The legendary Southpaw was happy with the knock and claimed the Indian cricket team are in safe hands in the future.

Like Chaturvedi, Singh had scored his triple century which led to his State team winning the tournament. Along with that, both finals ended in draws but Karnataka and Punjab were awarded the win thanks to their 1st innings lead.
