On Day 1, India were staggering at 98/5 and what happened next in India’s innings entertained all the watchers. Rishabh Pant exhibited a fearless knock when he stitched a 222-run stand with Ravindra Jadeja and slammed a ton off just 89 balls. At the end, he missed his 150 score by just four runs. Overall, he scored 146 runs off just 111 balls. This helped India’s score reach 338 runs for 7. Also, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar were the Indian batters to have a ton at Edgbaston. Now, in one innings, Jadeja and Pant scored two tons at Edgbaston.

Although India had already turned the tables by the end of Day 1. Jadeja took the charge on Day 2 and scored the second ton of India’s first innings. He played 198 balls to score 104 runs. He proceeded to do the signature sword celebration after his hundred.

But he soon fell after century off James Anderson‘s delivery, who also picked up his fourth wicket. India’s top order batsmen had to walk back because of this bowler. But something unusual happened next and left cricket fraternity in awe.

It was India pacer Jasprit Bumrah who broke legendary Brian Lara’s 18-year long record by smashing 29 runs in an over off no one but bowler Stuart Broad. He was the same Broad whom Yuvraj Singh had unleashed ruthless attack with six sixes in an over in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. Broad had the unwanted record of 36 runs in an over in T20 history, and now, he has the record of 35 runs in an over in Test history. Eventually India crossed 400-run mark and got all out at 416 runs.
