MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh
Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has opened up about the rumored rift between him and former India captain MS Dhoni. Harbhajan said they are good friends right now as they have shared the dressing room for many years. Harbhajan was also part of the Chennai Super Kings- which Dhoni captains- for three years and played a crucial role in their 2018 victory.
However, as cricketers lead busy lives, they find little time to meet each other. That’s why Harbhajan said he and Dhoni don’t meet frequently which shouldn’t indicate that they have developed a rift between them.
“Why would I have a problem with MS Dhoni? We have played a lot of cricket for India and have been very, very good friends, and still are. He became busy with his life, and I became busy with mine, and we don’t meet very often. But there’s no rift whatsoever,” Harbhajan said while speaking to Sports Yaari.
“As far as I know, he hasn’t taken away any of my properties (laughs). But yes, I am interested in some of his properties, especially his farmhouse,” he added.

Harbhajan believes MS Dhoni’s retirement will be very different. He thinks that if Dhoni decides to retire from IPL, he will do it very suddenly. He pointed toward the time when Dhoni left Test captaincy in the same fashion.
Harbhajan said Dhoni always wanted to finish his IPL career in front of CSK fans and that he is working extremely hard for IPL 2023. “He doesn’t leave the nets until his back starts to hurt,” Harbhajan said.
Harbhajan Singh then talked about CSK’s signing of English all-rounder Ben Stokes and opined that one cannot write off CSK just because they had a below-par season last year. He heaped praise on Stokes, saying the 31-year-old knows how to win matches, calling him “the biggest champion in world cricket today.” Stokes’ knock helped England lift the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia by defeating Pakistan.
The auction for IPL 2023 saw many English players getting sold for huge amounts because of their successful T20 World Cup campaign. Stokes was roped in by CSK for INR 16.25 crore. This year, CSK will open their campaign against defending champion Gujarat Giants on March 31, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
