Sri Lanka took their revenge by defeating Bangladesh by a close margin of two wickets and knocked them out of Asia Cup 2022 on Thursday, September 1 at the Dubai International Stadium in UAE.
After what was a thriller match and last over drama, Sri Lanka finally was able got the green ticket to play further but with this defeat Bangladesh will play no more.
During Nidahas Trophy in 2018, after knocking out Sri Lanka, the whole team of Bangladesh did their “Nagin Dance” celebration and now that Sri Lanka won this match, they too responded in the same manner.

Sri Lanka had won the toss and chose to bowl first. With a combined team effort, Bangladesh were able to post 183/7 on the scoreboard.
In response, Sri Lanka lost some wicket wickets. Ebadot Hossain broke the back of Sri Lanka. Kushal Mendis was the high-scorer for Sri Lanka with his knock of 60 runs off 37 balls with four boundaries and three sixes. But in the fifteenth over, he became a victim of Mustafizur Rahman. Sri Lanka captian Dasun Shanaka scored 45 runs off 33 balls with three boundaries and two sixes
Chamika Karunarate scored 16 runs off 10 balls while Asitha Fernando played an unbeaten knock of 10 runs off three ball with two fours to take Sri Lanka to 184, winning the match by two wickets.
