After a successful IPL 2022 conclusion on Sunday, May 29, Jay Shah, the secretary of Board of Control of cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a prize money of Rs. 1.25 crore to groundsmen and curators at the six venues that hosted the league matches of IPL 2022.

“I’m pleased to announce a prize money of INR 1.25 crores for the men who gave us the best games in #TATAIPL 2022. The unsung heroes-our curators and groundsmen across 6 IPL venues this season,” wrote Jay Shah.

Jay Shah declares Rs. 25 lakhs for four venues in Maharashtra and Rs. 12 lakhs each for the knockout venues

All the four venues were in the state of Maharashtra which hosted the league matches following Covid protocols. These venues are Wankhede Stadium (hosted 21 matches) , Brabourne Stadium (16) , DY Patil Stadium (20) and the MCA Stadium(13) ; they will receive Rs. 25 lakhs each. While those in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens and Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium will receive Rs. 12.5 lakhs each. The last two stadiums hosted the Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and the finals.

“We’ve witnessed some high octane games and I would like thank each one of them for their hardwork. 25 lacs each for CCI, Wankhede, DY Patil and MCA, Pune. 12.5 lacs each for Eden and Narendra Modi Stadium,” he added in another tweet.

Jay Shah was present at the final of IPL 2022 and presented the winner’s cheque to Hardik Pandya along with BCCI president Saurav Ganguly. He congratulated Gujarat Titans on winning their maiden IPL title. Gujarat Titans had defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets to clinch their maiden trophy under the leadership of Hardik Pandya and guidance of head coach Aashish Nehra.
