“New GAYLE of RCB women!”- Beast Sophie Devine’s absolute carnage of a knock sends Twitter into a frenzy
When WPL became predictable and boring, RCB ended up producing a nail-biter. This was certainly a match which will be remembered by the WPL fans for Sophie Devine and RCB's intrepid performance in the do-or-die match.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore never miss a chance to surprise their fans. When they lost five matches on the trot, everyone certainly lost all hopes of seeing the team reach the playoffs. Though they have to go a long way to keep themselves alive for the playoffs, today they played an absolute gem of a knock.
When Gujarat Giants posted 188/4, all RCB fans could do was hope for a miracle to happen. Although no magic from outside saved them, their opener Sophie Devine did.
Today, praising her won’t be enough just because of her unleashing the beast. One ought to feel sorry for her, only because she missed the chance of becoming the first player to slam a century in the history of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). All she needed was just one run but unfortunately, Kim Grath did not let that happen.
Grath pitched it fully and Devine looked to clear the mid-off fielder but it was the timing of Ashwani Kumari there who leaped up to grab a stunner of a catch. All Devine could then was soak in the applause of the dressing room and crowd for her absolute carnage knock. Now she also became the leading run scorer of WPL, amassing 253 runs in seven matches.
The incredible thing about her knock was the strike rate. She batted at a monstrous strike rate of 275 to score 99 runs from just 36 balls, which was adorned with nine boundaries and eight sixes. At one time, she even smashed a 94 meter six.

Twiteratis can’t stop praising Sophie Devine for her absolute gem of a knock
RCB needed a few runs to finish off the match after Devine’s wicket. So after she exited the field, Ellyse Perry and Heather Knight did the rest of the job. Both remained unbeaten at 19 and 22 respectively. RCB then won the match by eight wickets with 27 balls to spare.
When WPL became predictable and boring, RCB ended up producing a nail-biter. This was certainly a match which will remembered by the WPL fans for Sophie Devine and RCB’s intrepid performance in the do-or-die match. Another positive thing happened today for RCB is their captain Smriti Mandhana‘s form. After series of poor show, she finally played a decent knock of 37 runs from 31 balls.
But to say RCB will heave a sigh of relief after this match would be wrong; for they have to compensate now in their next matches for their five consecutive defeats earlier. But they will certainly pat their backs because of this lionhearted show.
