Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is often considered the epitome of calmness, has actually got an angry on-field side to him. Pacer Ishant Sharma in conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia revealed that MS Dhoni often used abusive language with him while on the field.

Ishant said, “Mahi bhai has many strengths. But calm and cool aren’t one of them. He often uses abusive language on the field, and I’ve heard it firsthand.” He also revealed MS Dhoni asked him to quit because he was getting old, as a joke, when he told him that he felt tired after his bowling spell.

There have been some famous instances of MS Dhoni losing his cool on the field, such as the 2019 IPL match between CSK and RR over a no-ball call and the India-Australia ODI series regarding a technical glitch involved in Mike Hussey’s dismissal overturn the decision.

Ishant Sharma recalls when MS Dhoni lost his cool on the field

While it comes as a shock to fans when they hear instances of ‘Captain Cool’ losing his composure, Ishant Sharma walks us through an incident where he experienced it firsthand. Though he said that it is not common for MS to lose his cool, it happened once when Ishant did not throw properly.

Explaining the incident, Ishant said, “I’ve never seen Mahi bhai angry, except when he threw the ball, and it went down. When he threw it the first time, I saw that look. The second throw was even stronger, and the ball went down. The third throw, he said, ‘Hit it in the hand.’ He said it with an expletive.”

Notably, Ishant Sharma and MS Dhoni share a lovely bond and the pacer has time and again credited Dhoni for the success he (Ishant) achieved in his career.
