On 16th February, famous pop star Taylor Swift held a concert in the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which had an audience of 96k fans. This was night one out of three concerts scheduled at the iconic cricket ground, in which it will have an estimated 260k fans combined. The concert had her highest attendance, which is also the highest for a female artist at the MCG.
Thirteen months ago, the same stadium was the host to the 2022 T20 World Cup, where India played arch-rivals Pakistan. India won the match, thanks to an iconic 82* by Virat Kohli, which has been regarded as one of the greatest T20I innings of all time. The knock is memorialized by a six hit by Kohli during the 112th ball of the innings, where he hit Haris Rauf for a six with a straight bat despite not having any room.
Seeing the news of Swift and her concert at the MCG, many cricket fans decided to remind Swift and her fans the true icon of the ground.
