England thrash Pakistan to lift the T20 World Cup 2022

Hence proved that Ben Stokes is a man, made for the World Cup. He cried after bowling to Carlos Brathwaite, who smashed him for sixes on the last balls in the T20 World Cup 2016 final, to help West Indies become the champions twice. Leaving behind that upset, Stokes was the match-winner in the 2019 ODI World Cup final against New Zealand, and he yet again did it the same when English batters were tethering to reach the 138-run target against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022 final.

Eoin Morgan brought attacking-style cricket to England, and what else would Jos Buttler want rather than captain his side to a World Cup win in his first attempt. His tactics while fielding is praiseworthy. He did everything right and did no mistakes to restrict Pakistan to just 137/8.

This is the icing on the cake, to win the T20 World Cup, just immensely proud. A long journey and a few changes, but we’re reaping the rewards. Fantastic tournament, Pakistan was a valuable time for the group, but this is a way away from the Ireland game.

Adil’s over was outstanding, he’s always the guy we throw the ball to to take something happen. It wasn’t easy at all, got away to a decent start which controlled the run-rate, and that man Ben Stokes was there at the end. He’s the ultimate competitor. In anything he does, a hell of a lot of experience to bank on, he timed it perfectly the impetus he and Moeen had took it away from Pakistan,” added the double-World Cup champion.

Whenever the captain needed a wicket from Sam Curran, the young pacer gave it right away. The Player of the Match as well as Player of the Tournament, scalped three wickets in the final.

Buttler was the highest run-scorer for England and after Haris Rauf sent him back, Pakistan were flying high after catching the big fish. Stokes was a pedestrian during the middle overs, and Pakistan rather wanted to bowl to him, but they knew not what the man would do in the end.

However, another twist took place that brought concern to the face of Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. Their pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi, who, although dismissed Harry Brook by catching the ball, ended up injuring his right knee once again. He came to bowl again but walked back to the dugout in pain.

Stokes, meanwhile, raced to the target and became the hero of England. Surprisingly, he scored his first half-century in T20I in this match only. He played 49 balls to score 52 balls, which were studded with five fours and a six.

To conclude, England won the final by five wickets and crowned the T20 World Cup champions for the second time; the first they won in 2010. Also, in a nutshell, Pakistan could not repeat 1992 (two same teams on the same ground after 30 years, but with a different result).
