Virat Kohli flew back to Mumbai from Indore to receive the invitation for the Ram temple consecration ceremony, scheduled for January 22 in Ayodhya. Kohli was in Indore because the second T20I against Afghanistan was held there.

For the past few months, many citizens across India have been eagerly waiting for the consecration ceremony. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has been giving invitations to celebrities from different fields in India. MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar have already received the invitation to attend the grand ceremony.

As per the latest reports, Kohli asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to be given an off-day to visit Ayodhya for Ram Lalla darshan. The board gave their approval.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony is just a couple of days before the high-octane India-England Test series. The first match of the series is scheduled for January 25th at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Ahead of the match, Team India will assemble in Hyderabad on January 20.

Virat Kohli is six runs away from another milestone

Virat Kohli will feature in the third T20I against Afghanistan at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He missed the first match for personal reasons and played his first T20I match since the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal against England in Indore.

In the third T20I against Afghanistan, Kohli will reach a major milestone if he scores just six runs. The 35-year-old has 11994 runs in 375 T20 matches, which makes him the fourth-highest run scorer in the format.

If he scores six more runs, he will complete 12000 runs in the format, which will make him the first-ever Indian to reach the landmark. Before him, Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, and Shoaib Malik have already scored 12000 runs in the format.
