“Disrespectful, Disgraceful”- Monty Panesar calls for boycotting Aamir Khan-starrer Lal Singh Chaddha for its portrayal of Sikhs
Laal Singh Chaddha
Former India spinner Monty Panesar slammed the Aamir Khan starred movie “Laal Singh Chaddha” for its portrayal of the lead charecter who is a Sikh. He called the movie “disrespectful and disgraceful” to the Indian Armed Forces, Indian Army and Sikhs.
“Laal Singh Chaddha” is a remake of the Tom Hanks-starred Hollywood movie “Forrest Gump” which was released in 1994. In that movie a low IQ made it to the US Army which helped his name getting imprinted on American history books.
Panesar opined that US Army recruited the low IQ men because of their requirement in the Vietnam War which didn’t agree with the Bollywood remake. The movie has been directed by Advait Chandan, produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios and written by Atul Kulkarni. It was released on Thursday, August 11.
