Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Jos Buttler is known for creating havoc with his bat once he gets going. But this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been a mixed one for the Englishman. Though he registered four half-centuries, including a 95-run knock, managing 392 runs in 14 matches, he became the first batsman to score most ducks in a single IPL season.

The 32-year-old, during RR’s last league match against Punjab Kings (PBKS), got out for a duck for the third successive time and simultaneously recorded five ducks in a season. This was rather a bizarre thing that happened to him as prior to this season, he had managed just a single duck ( from 2016 to 2022).

Though fans mocked him for this unwanted record on social media platforms, the Brit himself ended up trolling himself. After RR defeated PBKS, the former’s captain Sanju Samson took to Instagram to share a post featuring him, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Buttler with the caption: “Yuziii, Josetta..korch neram irunnu nokam Chelapo Biryani kittiyalo? (Let’s sit for some time, maybe we might get Biryani)“.

Buttler came up with a hilarious reaction and trolled himself. “No Biryani…..duck pancakes!” Check the post below:

Buttler scored his first duck against defending champions Gujarat Titans on April 16, followed by his flop show without a run against Royal Challengers Bangalore. But against SRH, he hammered a brilliant 95. In the next three matches, against Kolkata Knight Riders, RCB, and PBKS, the 2022 T20 World Cup champion bagged back-to-back ducks.

RR’s season has not ended yet as they are yet to get knocked out of the tournament. They are heavily dependent on the match results of the RCB and Mumbai Indians and are hoping to see both teams lose their respective matches. RR are currently sitting at the fifth position on the points table with seven wins from 14 matches with 14 points at a Net Run Rate of +0.148.
