India winning against Pakistan is the most satisfying moment for most of the cricket fans in the country and youngster Sai Sudarshan gave that happiness to his countrymen on Wednesday (19 July). As India A took on Pakistan A in the group-stage game of the 2023 Emerging Asia Cup, Sai Sudarshan scored a century and helped his team chase down 206 with ease. India A chased down the target with 80 balls left.

Earlier, while bowling first, India A bundled Pakistan for 205 as Rajvardhan Hangargekar claimed a five-wicket haul. Manav Suthar also scalped three wickets. Harshit Rana’s catch also became a talking point in the first inning but it was all Sai Sudarshan in the second inning.

The Indian prodigy scored a 110-ball 104* and saw his side home with back-to-back sixes against Shahnawaz Dahani. Sudarshan hit ten boundaries and three sixes during his knock. Meanwhile, Nikin Jose also scored a half-century (53) and formed a 99-run partnership with Sudarshan. Captain Yash Dhull (21*) was there till the end to finish things off for India A.

As India A humiliated arch-rivals Pakistan on Wednesday, fans could not keep their calm. The Muhammad Haris-led team had several international players. Despite having the likes of Shahnawaz Dahini and Muhammad Wasim Jr, Pakistan’s bowling attack looked clueless against a raring Sudarshan.

With this win India A finished at the top of their group. The Yash Dhull-led team won all three of their group-stage games. India A will now face Bangladesh A in the semifinals on 21 July.
