In the Sydney Cricket Ground, Pakistan played South Africa in a crucial match in the Super 12. Pakistani captain Babar Azam won the toss and choose to Bat first. On a green surface where rain was a huge possibility, placing a target first was a good option.

No South African player was able to score 20-plus runs apart from their captain as they slumped to a total of 108 for 9.
