Bhogle recently faced the wrath of fans when he promoted an article written on stats. The article claimed Virat Kohli’s 82* against Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup was average according to a model they used. He did face a lot of flak due to the article, with fans claiming they needed to watch a match using their eyes.

Bhogle was also involved in a rather public verbal-spat with Kevin Pietersen regarding the use of switch hits. Bhogle claimed it was unfair and should be banned, but Pietersen believed the game needed innovation.
