Former cricketer Aakash Chopra files complaint against businessman and son after they dupe him of Rs 33 Lakhs

Aakash Chopra was duped of Rs. 33 Lakhs by a father-son duo.

Former Cricketer Aakash Chopra has filed a complaint against businessman Kamlesh Parikh and his son, Dhruv Parikh, after they defrauded him of Rs 33 Lakhs. An FIR was also registered against the father son duo in the Hariparvat Police Station in Agra. The FIR is registered under IPC Section 406 (criminal breach of trust).

According to the FIR, Chopra gave Dhruv Rs 57.8 Lakhs as an investment into their shoe business and was promised the entire amount plus 20% profit in 30 days. The deal was notarized and post dated cheques were given for security. However, Chopra only received Rs 24.5 Lakhs back in the following year. Along with that 2 cheques that were issued in his name were dishonored.

Kamlesh Parikh was then contacted by Chopra and promised to honor his son’s agreement but failed to do so. Both were then served with legal notices and then ceased contact with the former cricketer, which has been a problem for Chopra.

He claimed the ICC and BCCI were providing different balls to the Indian team so that they could bowl better. He also claimed the DRS was rigged in order to help India during the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup
