Ever since Hardik Pandya replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain of Mumbai Indians, many expected a rift between the two. Things did look cold between the two during the first match against Gujarat Titans as well.

After the match, Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma were seen discussing at length, which Robin Uthappa said was good to see. Talking during JioCineama’s coverage, the 2-time IPL champion claimed the two were discussing tactics, with Sharma advising his successor.

I am sure Rohit here, from what we see, is passing on information with Hardik and Hardik is listening like someone who wants to understand things. This is good news, this looks good to me. This will hold Mumbai Indians in good stead as the team moves forward.

He further praised Sharma for being an incredible person. Uthappa said with the negative news surrounding how Pandya gained captaincy, the Indian captain did not need to help out, but he still did. He said it was nice of Sharma to help out Pandya.

Robin Uthappa calls out Delhi Capital’s “overseas bias”

During Delhi Capital’s first match of the 2024 IPL against Punjab Kings, they fielded four overseas batters. They were David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Shai Hope and Tristan Stubbs. This enraged Robin Uthappa, who asked why the team played only three Indian batters. He was also unhappy at how Axar Patel, who was DC’s 2nd highest run scorer the previous season, came in to bat at number 7.

Why don't you back the Indian players you have picked? I don't understand why a franchise like DC doesn't back Indian players. That's my problem with DC, they never try out their Indian lads.

DC are currently undergoing an injury crisis. They have lost pacers Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi and Jhye Richardson to injuries already, with Ngidi replaced by Jake Fraser-McGurk. Nortje has not come to India yet and Richardson will miss a few matches. Ishant Sharma has also suffered an injury during the match with PBKS. They now play Rajasthan Royals on 28th March
