Former Pakistan captain analyzes Arjun Tendulkar’s bowling, says “he won’t be able to generate pace”
Talking about Arjun Tendulkar’s bowling, the left-arm pacer has left a good impression on the fans as well as cricket experts.
Ever since his debut, Arjun Tendulkar has become a talking point in the cricketing fraternity. While his surname has surely contributed to this constant chatter, Arjun has shown good signs in the first few overs he has bowled so far. The left-arm pacer has been consistent with his line and lengths. However, Arjun bowls at a mediocre pace and this certainly brings down his overall bowling quality.
Many experts have shared their opinion on Junior Tendulkar’s bowling speed. While a few think that the left-arm pacer’s speed will increase as his career progresses, former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has claimed that the Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer will not be able to generate any pace with his current action.
“He’s in his initial stage. He has to do a lot of hard work. His alignment isn’t good, he won’t be able to generate pace,” Latif said on his official YouTube channel ‘Caught Behind’ while analyzing Arjun Tendulkar’s bowling. “If a good biomechanical consultant guides him, maybe he can add some pace to his bowling. It’s quite a touchy subject, coaching and changing a player. Sachin could’ve done that himself but he relied on domestic cricket for that.
“Your base has to be strong. When he lands, he goes out instead of coming in. His balance isn’t good, and that’s impacting his pace. But again, it’s still in the initial stage. He can go to 135 kmph, he’s a good batter. He can be a good player in 2-3 years,” he added.
Arjun leaves good first impression!
Talking about Arjun Tendulkar’s bowling, the left-arm pacer has left a good impression on the fans as well as cricket experts. Although he has not got much pace to work with, Tendulkar Junior has impressed with his consistency to bowl in one area. Even in the death overs, the left-arm pacer consistently bowled yorkers.
Brett Lee too pointed out the same after MI’s win over SRH where Arjun took his maiden IPL wicket. “He tried to nail that wide-line yorker and he did it very well. It’s hard coming in, playing only his 2nd match, he was under pressure with the whole team relying on him… he honed himself impeccably, he spoke well and his game is only going to improve,” said the former Australian.
