Pakistan’s 20-year-old Naseem Shah was mocked on air by former cricketer Aamir Sohail when he played a 78-ball 6-run knock in the first Test against Sri Lanka. Although Naseem stitched a 94-run ninth-wicket partnership with double-centurion Saud Shakeel which was crucial in helping extend Pakistan’s first-innings lead, Sohail came hard at the pacer.

Saud Shakeel has been in great form for Pakistan since his debut in December. He has featured in six tests, scoring a double hundred, one hundred and five half centuries. He averages an astonishing 98.5 in six Tests so far.

Naseem Shah has represented Pakistan in 15 tests, 8 ODIs, and 19 T20Is. In his short career for Pakistan, Naseem’s 78-ball 6 knock comes as a great testament to his ability to read deliveries and play with a calm head. Despite this effort, he was subtly mocked by former Pakistani cricketer Aamir Sohail on air.

While on air, Ramiz Raja appreciated Naseem Shah’s ability to play out deliveries by saying, “Naseem has no problem developing the batting muscle.” In response to that, Aamir Sohail said, “There is another muscle he needs to develop, the brain muscle. He will become a better cricketer and bowler.” He wants the youngster to work on his cricketing brain so that he can go on to become a better cricketer.

Naseem is a promising talent for Pakistan as he possesses good bowling as well as decent batting skills. Pakistan are currently on top after the end of play on Day 4 of the first Test and are surely cruising towards victory, ensuring a 1-0 in the two-match series against Sri Lanka.
