India’s power-hitter Rishabh Pant has been facing 140kph-plus deliveries in the nets as per the latest reports about the star batter’s recovery process. Pant is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), recuperating from that horrible car crash last year in December.
He severely injured himself, and even suffered ligament tears. After undergoing multiple surgeries, Pant slowly started recovering and just eight months after the incident, he hit the net sessions. At first, it was declared by the doctors that he needs at least 18 months to recover.
“Rishabh Pant has been making a fine recovery. He has started to take on deliveries with a speed excess of 140 kmph,” an NCA source told RevSportz.
“We all are delighted with the way he has been crossing every hurdle in his recovery. He is keeping well,” he added. He also said that their next target is to help Pant focus on larger and quicker body moments in the next couple of months.
But will Rishabh Pant be available for ODI World Cup?
Though he has been recovering against time, in all possibilities, he won’t feature in the squad for the fifty-over World Cup. Around two months are left for the World Cup and Pant will need a couple of months to regain full body movements.
He missed several important tournaments this year. And the Indian cricket fraternity also missed his unconventional batting a lot when India played Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series and the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia.
In his absence, Delhi Capitals (DC) made David Warner the captain in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year. The team performance was terrible throughout the league.
