The Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) had announced two squads for their 3 match ODI series with Australia before the beginning of the 2023 ODI World Cup. The first two matches have important players rested and the 3rd ODI has the full team in the squad.
While talking about the ODI series on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan Singh was unhappy with Yuzvendra Chahal not being selected in the squad despite so many players getting rested. He said “Yuzvendra Chahal should have been here. He has not been given an opportunity. It is beyond my understanding. Either he has fought with someone or he has said something to someone, I don’t know. If we talk only about skill, his name should have been there in this team because a lot of Team India players are resting.”
Yuzvendra Chahal has been dropped from the Indian team due to team combination, with the team management preferring to play bowling all-rounders ahead of pure spinners like Chahal. Chahal currently is playing in the English County Championship for Kent County Cricket Club.

Harbhajan Singh says India is trying to rectify mistakes
As R. Ashwin and Washington Sundar have been called up for the ODI series against Australia, Harbhajan believes India is trying to rectify mistakes. He believes the team management is trying to fit in off-spinners in the team by selecting Washington and Ashwin. With Axar Patel potentially missing out on the World Cup due to an injury, either Sundar or Ashwin would go to the esteemed tournament.
KL Rahul will lead the team against Australia in the first two ODI as key players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya are rested. If Axar Patel doesn’t recover in time, either Washington or Ashwin will replace him.
