India wicketkeeper Sanju Samson reportedly got an offer from Ireland Cricket after not getting enough opportunities to play international matches despite his consistent performance. Due to this reason, fans keep slamming the board for choosing players who don’t perform over Samson.

Numerous media claimed that Samson got an offer to represent Ireland Cricket recently, promising the wicketkeeper that he will get opportunities to feature in all the matches. And that the cricketer should shift to Ireland to pursue his cricketing career.

But the Kerala cricketer, according to the reports, politely rejected the offer saying he wants to represent India only and could never imagine playing for another country. If he accepted that offer, he had to cut ties with the BCCI.

He couldn’t even feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well where he captains the Rajasthan Royals franchise. Samson also led the Rajasthan Royals to the final where they eventually lost to the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans. Amongst the rumors, Ireland Cricket has reportedly denied the claims stating they haven’t made any offers to Samson.

Talking about Samson’s constant exclusion from the squad, he wasn’t included in the T20 World Cup 2022 as well as the Asia Cup 2022 squads. He didn’t get the chance to play against New Zealand in the ODI series despite his being added to the squad. He wasn’t added to the squad for the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh as well.

When India played the three-match ODI series against South Africa, Samson’s unbeaten 86 almost helped India win the first ODI which India lost by narrow margins. In the next two ODIs against South Africa, he scored 30 and two, respectively.

Despite the false rumors about Samson’s getting an offer from Ireland Cricket, fans, who are unhappy with the Indian board for ignoring Samson found an opportunity to get involved in the debate. Some said it’s a great opportunity, while others quashed the false rumors.
