“Hasn’t performed in ten matches,” – Ajay Jadeja slams this allrounder for RCB’s poor show
Ajay Jadeja and Hasaranga
Royal Challengers Bangalore started off their IPL campaign pretty well. They started by winning consecutive matches and were eyeing a top table finish. But in the recent games, something has not worked for the RCB as they have lost three matches back-to-back.
A Recent inclusion in the RCB side is Wanindu Hasaranga. He was picked up by the Royal Challengers in the IPL mega auction 2022 for a whooping sum of INR 10.75 crores. Hasaranga started off as IPL pretty well and in 10 IPL matches he has managed to clinch 15 wickets bowling at an economy rate of 8.03 an over.
Former Indian batsmen Ajay Jadeja, doesn’t look very impressed with the 24-year-old Sri Lankan. Despite Hasaranga being the leading wicket taker for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Jadeja says the team should reach for other options as his performances have been pretty average recently.

Ajay Jadeja on Wanindu Hasaranga’s average performances:
The Royal Challengers Bangalore face the Chennai Super Kings on 4 May at Pune. Prior to the match the ex- Indian cricketer spoke to Cricbuzz:
“It’s been 10 matches and Hasaranga hasn’t impressed with the ball. He was purchased with much fanfare, but in some of the games, he has bowled only two to three overs. I don’t think he has delivered to expectations. There are Indian spinners in the squad. If they want, they can change the entire calculation and bring in a pure bowler. Hasaranga bats as well but by the time he comes in, the match is over. Instead of Hasaranga, RCB can for go for a proper bowler who can support Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj and Josh Hazlewood.”
“RCB are under greater pressure as they have more to lose. They are still in with a chance of qualifying but if they lose here, they may end up ruing the fact that they stumbled towards the end. For Chennai, from where they are coming in, it’s all plus.”
The leading wicket takers chart for the RCB looks like this. Hasaranga led with 15 wickets in 10 matches, followed by Harshal Patel’s ten in nine matches. The Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has also picked up ten wickets from six games and Mohammed Siraj has managed to take eight in 10 matches.
About the fixture Jadeja said that RCB would be in greater pressure as they have higher chances to qualify for the play-offs than CSK, who were sitting at the bottom of the table. After losing three consecutive matches Bangalore said sixth the points table, whereas CSK or on the ninth position.
