ABD said “The form he is at this moment and he has already won RCB 2-3 games, he looks like he is in the form of his life. I don’t know where that comes from because he hasn’t played a lot of cricket in the recent few months. But man, he looks in good form and he plays around the wicket 360 degrees. He almost makes me feel like I want to go back and play some cricket again, watching him play. He gets me excited, plays under pressure in the middle order and he’s got a lot of experience and if he keeps his form up there is a good chance that RCB is going a long way up“.

The top order will be RCB’s main concern, as skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli have combined for only one fifty-plus score throughout 12 innings. Du Plessis began his season with an 88-run innings against Punjab Kings, with a striking rate of 154, whereas Kohli made 41 not out off 29 balls in the same game. Du Plessis alone has mustered 66 runs in five games since then, averaging less than a run per ball. Kohli’s sequence after RCB’s first game is as follows: 12, 5, 48, 1, and 12, with an average strike rate of 101.42 from all these five games. While Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik have camouflaged RCB’s top-order issues.
