“PBKS won heart, kidney, and liver”- Hilarious memes rain on Twitter as PBKS sink CSK after last-over drama
PBKS have been producing impressive performances this season and have crossed the 200-run mark a couple of times.
CSK vs PBKS
Even a 200-run total is not enough in today’s T20 league matches. When Chennai Super Kings (CSK) posted 200/4, for Punjab Kings (PBKS) to toil hard while chasing, was already anticipated. But the visitors at the MA Chidambaram Stadium sunk the hosts by four wickets to the dismay of the Chennai fans on Sunday (April 30); the match, however, certainly was an edge-of-a-seat thriller.
PBKS have been producing impressive performances this season and have crossed the 200-run mark a couple of times. This time, their openers, Prabhsimran Singh and Shikhar Dhawan went berserk and stitched 50 runs between them in five overs while chasing 201.
Though Dhawan departed after a 15-ball 28, and Prabhsimran also followed his captain a couple of overs later and lost their third wicket, of Atharva Taide next. Still PBKS still kept the momentum under control.
Prabhsimran smashed two sixes and four boundaries to score 42 runs from 24 balls. Taide ate up 17 balls to score a mere 13 runs. But after his dismissal, Liam Livingstone‘s ballistic innings brought another twist to the match.

Liam Livingstone plays impactful innings
The Englishman produced four powerful maximums and a six to quickly add 40 runs from 24 balls. He hammered Tushar Deshpande for three sixes in the 16th over, but the latter had a last laugh when he sent the dangerous all-rounder to the dugout. An over later, Sam Curran (29 off 20) also took a long walk back to the dugout.
Though CSK knew they made a terrific comeback by dismissing the two Englishmen, Jitesh Sharma went all guns blazing in the death overs.
He batted at a strike rate of 210 and slammed a six and two fours to score 21 runs from 10 balls when Deshpande’s delivery to him with a catch by Shaik Rasheed created confusion and added extra drama to the match. Rasheed’s leg seemed to have touched the boundary cushion while taking the match, but the third umpire deemed it as a dismissal.
At last, in the final over, when three runs were needed off the last ball, the batters, Sikandar Raza and Shah Rukh Khan completed it by running between the wickets to secure a memorable victory and subsequently got placed fifth on the points table, below CSK, with both teams winning five of their nine matches they played so far.
