Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) hosted Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. MI captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. The decision proved right for MI as Arjun Tendulkar removed Wriddhiman Saha early in the powerplay. However, Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya stitched a partnership and GT ended the powerplay at 50/1.

But MI once again found their way back with Piyush Chawal removing GT captain on the first ball of his very first over. After Hardik fell, Vijay Shankar came in to bat and added some crucial runs with Gill in the middle. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill reached his third half-century of the season off 30 balls.

While it seemed that Gujarat Titans have lost the plot in the middle overs with back-to-back wickets, the Hardik Pandya-led team put on a run-fest in the end overs and ended up with 207/6. After Gill’s half-century Abhinav Manohar, David Miller, and Rahul Tewatia played blistering knocks to propel the team over 200. While Manohar scored 42 runs off just 21 balls, Miller scored a 22-ball 46. Meanwhile, Rahul Tweatia scored a 5-ball 20* and helped GT cross 200.
