West Indies secures a 3-2 win against India
While Bishop and a selected group of other former players and analysts have been vocal supporters of his team’s cricket, he is also quick to point out the team’s shortcomings when they arise. But this win symbolized Cricket West Indies revival following World Cup exile. Their first series wise victory over India since 2016 and was celebrated in the camp after Brandon King hit a maximum.
“I saw some tweets on social media about the state of West Indies Cricket from my friends and colleagues. I would want to remind them that when your friend is hurt, you don’t say get rid of them. You try to find out how to help them. Leave it,” Bishop said on air.
The T20I series saw a changed West Indies team which dominated the first two matches and take a promising 2-0 lead. Despite an incredible comeback by the visitors that tied the series at 2-2, the West Indies prevailed to finish a dramatic series.
