The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday (September 22) announced the prize money for the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup. The winners of the 13th edition of the tournament will receive US$4 million from the total prize pot of US$10 million after lifting the coveted trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19.

On the other hand, the runners-up will collect US$2 million. The losing semi-finalists will receive $800,000 each.

The ODI World Cup will be played in a round-robin format and the top four will reach the semifinals. Those teams which will fail to make it to the semi-finals will bag US$100,000 each. On the other hand, the winners of each match of the group stage will get US$40,000.

All about the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup 

The 10-team 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup will start on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad with a match between England and New Zealand. A total of 48 matches will be played from October 5 to November 19. Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and the Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the two semifinals, while the final will be played in Ahmedabad.

India will be the sole host of the tournament for the first time. It had previously co-hosted the ODI World Cup in 1987, 1996, and 2011. The host country last won the ODI World Cup in 2011. This year, Rohit Sharma and Co. will kick start their campaign on October 8 against Australia in Chennai.
