India will lock-horns with Northampton shire for the second warm-up T20 on Sunday, July 3 at County Ground. These warm-up matches are what the Indians are doing for their preparation for the upcoming three-match T20I series against England, which will start on 7th of July , right after the India vs England Test match. India played their first County warm-up game against Derbyshire on Friday.
Northamptionshire will face a touch competition from inform batsmen Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson. Hooda had smashed 59 runs off just 37 balls and Sanju Samson had played a knock of 38 runs to help India win it comfortably by seven wickets. Uncapped pacer Arshdeep Singh scalped two wickets and conceded 29 runs.
This time, the management gave rest to Hardik Pandya and made Dinesh Karthik the captain in these warm-up match. The T20 squad will be led by regular captain Rohit Sharma but other red-ball players like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer will miss the first match due to the ongoing Test match against England. But they will be available fore the last two matches. This will force Samson, Rahul Tripathi, Arshdeep Singh, Venkatesh Iyer, and Ruturaj Gaikwad out of the team.
