India have lost four and drawn six out of 10 Test matches against the Aussies. This match was also the first ever match held in India between the two teams since 1984.

The Indian Women’s cricketers, on Sunday (December 14), defeated Australia for the first time in Test cricket at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side clinched the victory by eight wickets.
The Test match started on December 21. Aussie skipper Alyssa Healy won the toss and decided to bat first.
With the help of Tahlia Mcgrath‘s 50 off 56 and Healy’s 38 off 75 runs, Australia could post 219 runs on the scoreboard. From India, Pooja Vastrakar ran through the batting line-up with her four wicket-haul, while Sneh Rana picked up three wickets.
From India, Smriti Mandhana scored the most (74 off 106 balls) in the first innings, while Jemimah Rodrigues played a knock of 121-ball for 73 runs. Pooja Vastrakar also contributed 47 runs from 126 balls, while Shafali Verma added 40 off 59 runs. These scores helped India put on a commendable 406 runs.
Australia got bundled out for 261 runs in their second innings, giving a target of 75 runs to the hosts. Mandhana’s 38 runs in the second innings were enough to seal the victory to win the match by eight wickets.

In 40 Tests, Indian women have won seven and lost six matches, with 27 of them ending in draws. This Test match was their first one on home soil since 2014. Indian fans are extremely happy due to the result and expressed that on X.
