“Isko Jonty Rhodes aaj hi banna tha,” fans react as Venkatesh Iyer takes spectacular catch to dismiss Virat Kohli and end RCB’s hopes

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer took a spectacular catch to dismiss Virat Kohli and end Royal Challengers Bangalore’s hopes in a big chase. As Kohli played a lofted pull shot towards long-on against Andre Russell, Iyer came running in and grabbed a stunning catch and silenced the home crowd. Meanwhile, fans on Twitter could not keep their calm at this dismissal.

As Virat Kohli was playing really well and keeping RCB alive in the chase, fans had their hopes pinned on the stand-in RCB captain. However, KKR captain Nitish Rana pulled the right string and handed the ball to Andre Russell. The KKR all-rounder did not disappoint his captain and straight away got the big fish.

Russell fed a short-of-length delivery on the off stump and Kohli tried to swat it. Although the RCB batter had timed his shot well enough and the ball was travelling to the boundary, Iyer came running in and grabbed it with both hands to end Kohli’s knock. The RCB stand-in skipper was frustrated to bits and so were RCB fans on Twitter.

The other batters also could not do much.
