Jofra Archer shares pics of his Mumbai Indians jersey; talks of ‘dark days’ after injury
Jofra Archer
England’s pacer Jofra Archer received a special gift from Mumbai Indians and took to Instagram to share pics of jersey earlier today. Notably Jofra Archer was signed in for Rs 8 crores at the IPL mega auction in February. But an injury kept him out of this year’s tournament.
The five-time champions Mumbai Indians are having a disastrous season in 2022 and they will be looking forward to the services of Jofra Archer next year. Except for Jasprit Bumrah, other pacers have fallen flat with no consistency.
The Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians have struggled to get their right combination this year. They became the first team to lose all of their first eight matches in IPL 2022. Also, they are the first team to get eliminated from the playoffs race.

Jofra Archer’s IPL history
Jofra Archer made his IPL debut in 2018 in Rajasthan Royals. He had been with the Royals for four years until in 2022, he was released by the franchise prior to the auction and got acquired by the Mumbai Indians. He was unavailable for selection after his finger surgery and elbow injury in 2021. Because of this very elbow injury, he got ruled out of IPL 2022 but is expected to join the team next year. He has played 35 matches with 46 wickets to his name so far with an impressive economy of 7.13 in the tournament.
In his column in the Daily Mail, Jofra Archer said:
“I find myself in an unfamiliar place as I build towards the start of the Vitality Blast this month-from a fitness perspective.
“Am I confident things are where I would like them to be ahead of Sussex’s opening Twenty20 fixture against Glamorgan on May 26? Absolutely.
He has retained his full ECB central contract. He said on this:
“Having gone into a dark place last summer after the first op, I can see why when people are not on the good side of situations like this, they sometimes have a downward spiral in terms of mental health.
“It’s natural for anyone to worry about the future in that kind of situation, but not having to chase a contract gave me the time to rest properly.”
