Draft pick order for PSL 8
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday revealed the draft pick order for the upcoming season of PSL. The pick order was decided through a random draw at the PCB office, where representatives of all six franchises were present. Defending champion Lahore Qalandars will kick-off the picking.
Speaking on the same, Usman Wahla, the PSL 8 Tournament Director, said, “We have set small milestones for our flagship event and pick order for PSL 2023 was one of the targets. This has set the tone for this year’s player draft as the teams will now have absolute clarity on their turn and how they will make the best use of their chances to pick players for one of the most grueling and fiercely-contested leagues.
The PSL league was a big hit last season as the profit jumped 71%, the most for any season in history. It generated a massive profit of PKR 2.3 billion (USD 11,941,400 approx.) for PCB. It will be interesting to see how much the league generates for the 2023 season.
