“Please have a day off Thursday”- Kevin Pietersen makes an odd request to Virat Kohli ahead of semi-final between India and England

“Please have a day off Thursday”- Kevin Pietersen makes an odd request to Virat Kohli ahead of semi-final between India and England

Virat Kohli has been in blistering form in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. He smashed three half-centuries in five matches and as Team India is gearing up for the semi-final against England, the former India skipper will be eyeing a good score in his favorite ground in Adelaide.

He wasn’t playing like this in the last couple of months. He lost his form completely and scored meager runs. However, a one-month break from the game might have given him time to rejuvenate and reflect.

Now that he is back on the field, the opponent teams certainly made several plans to tackle this big fish, given that the Delhi-born cricketer is unstoppable. During his rough-patch days, despite many criticisms from others, former England skipper Kevin Pietersen was an outright supporter of the talismanic Indian batter. However, he made an odd request to the Chase Master ahead of the semi-final against England on Thursday (November 10).

Kevin Pietersen doesn’t want Virat Kohli to play against England

Ahead of the much-awaited semi-final against England, Virat Kohli shared a video of himself training for the clash. Kevin Pietersen commented on his post, requesting him not to play that day. “Please have a day off Thursday, bud! You know I love you but just chill Thursday please,” wrote Pietersen in his post.

Check his Kohli’s below:

I backed Kohli throughout the little loss of form that he had and he’s had a lot to deal with. He is an entertainer, he needs crowds, he needs that buzz, he needs that excitement. He didn’t have that for a few years, and he lost his way. But the crowds are in, it’s a T20 World Cup in Australia- one of the greatest places to play T20 cricket- and the King is back. As a close friend, I’m very happy for him, but I just need Virat to have a day off,” Pietersen also wrote in his blog for Betaway.

Meanwhile, India have eight points after playing all of their Super 12s matches. One of the primary reasons behind India’s success is the fine form of Kohli who registered 245 runs and also is the leading run-scorer of the tournament, also not forgetting Suryakumar Yadav‘s awestruck performance. The 34-year-old Kohli has also been named the ICC men’s Player of the Month for October.
