In what comes as a positive development for Indian cricket, India’s premium pacer Jasprit Bumrah and wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul are recovering in time to get fit for the two marquee events- Asia Cup and ODI World Cup. Both the players were seen practicing in the nets at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
While Bumrah was seen bowling at full throttle on an outdoor pitch, Rahul fended some ball on the indoor practice pitch at the NCA. Both Bumrah and Rahul are recovering from injuries. While the right-arm pacer has been out of action since September last year, Rahul has not played any cricket after IPL 2023.
In fact, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain had to pull out of the tournament with a few games left as Rahul pulled his hamstring on the field. The star batter also missed the WTC Final. Nevertheless, Rahul seems to be recovering well from his injury. The wicketkeeper batter played cautiously but looked comfortable.
Jasprit Bumrah bowling at full throttle, might play the Ireland series

Jasprit Bumrah has been out of action for almost a year (10 months) now. Nevertheless, the fans might get to see the star India pacer back in action really soon. As per reports, Bumrah is touted to make a comeback with the Ireland series. While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wanted to bring Bumah back with Asia Cup, the pacer is showing positive signs and hence might travel to Ireland with a second-string squad.
KL Rahul too can return to action with the Ireland series. Shreyas Iyer, who underwent back surgery has also resumed batting (as per a report in the Indian Express) and is in the fray for the Ireland T20Is.
All three players are really important for India considering the ODI World Cup is around the corner. While Bumrah will complete the pace bowling attack with Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami, Rahul and Iyer will form a formidable middle order and strengthen the fragile batting lineup.
