Mohammad Kaif claimed the wicket of Thisara Perera when India Maharajas locked horns with World Giants ahead of the Legends League Cricket season 2 on Friday. He then took to social media and boasted of his bowling skills.
He posted a video of his taking the wicket and tagged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Saurav Ganguly saying: “Special attention skipper: Please see the drift, flight and turn by Mohammad Kaif the all-rounder. Dada do you think you missed a trick?”
Replying to the tweet, Irfan Pathan wrote: “Aapki bowling ki mazak udaane ke liye muaafi.” (Sorry for making fun of your bowling.)
Then Kaif responded with: “Waise bola kya mein zara sun nahi paya.” (What you said I didn’t hear.)
Watch the video below:
In the second ball of his first over, he bowled it outside off-stump and Perera’s bat got an outside edge and Parvinder Awana at the short third man, a substitute fielder, dived and grabbed the ball.
Notably, Kaif has played under Ganguly in the early 2000s. However, he didn’t get a chance to represent in the ODI, and in Tests, he delivered only 18 balls in his entire career. He is mostly known for his batting and fielding during his playing days.
