Mohammad Rizwan will forward to stitching a good partnership with fellow opening partner Babar Azam. To give a strong start to the innings, he has been practicing in the nets ahead of their campaign opener. Men in Green will play against Rohit Sharma-led India on Sunday [October 23]. Ahead of the highly-waited clash, a video has been storming the internet.

In the video, Rizwan has seen training in the nets while some Indian fans asked him to smash sixes. A fan could be heard saying, “Hum India se aaye hain, ek chhakka maar do. (We have come from India, smash a six!.” Rizwan, who, apart from his consistent batting on the field, is also a jolly person off the field, could be heard replying to the fans, “India me aayenge to waha dikhayenge. The situation between the two boards- the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have gotten worse. It all started when there was excitement among the fans that India will be coming to Pakistan to take part in the Asia Cup 2023.

But an announcement from Asian Cricket Council and BCCI secretary Jay Shah ended the anticipation. He said BCCI won’t be sending their players to Pakistan and that a neutral venue will be chosen to conduct the tournament.

This triggered debate, and along with the fans, former Pakistani players slammed the board, saying they must not use their power to deny hosting rights to Pakistan. Even PCB had issued a statement, giving a direct threat of not sending their players to India for the next year’s ODI World Cup in India.

Here’s the statement:

The new BCCI President Roger Binny has also stated that the decision of sending their players to Pakistan, is not in their hands. They’ll act accordingly to the orders of the Indian government.
