‘It’s called Karma’ – Mohammed Shami’s response to Shoaib Akhtar after Pakistan’s defeat against England

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami replied to Shoaib Akhtar’s post on Twitter following Pakistan’s defeat against England in the T20 World Cup 2022 final on Sunday (November 13). The reply came as a surprise to many as Shami generally doesn’t involve himself in any controversy or debates.

The former Pakistani pacer posted a heartbroken emoji on Twitter after his country missed a golden opportunity to lift the T20 Cup. Replying to this, Shami said it was karma. His comment read: “Sorry brother, It’s call Karma.” The tweet is doing the rounds on the internet.

The context of the reply is still unconfirmed, but people are assuming it’s a response to Shoaib‘s comment on the Indian pacer. Akhtar previously questioned Shami’s selection in India’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad. The 32-year-old was initially selected as a backup player in the group.

However, after Jasprit Bumrah’s injury made him unavailable for the showpiece event, Shami was introduced into the main squad. The veteran pacer was expected to be the main weapon of captain Rohit Sharma. But his performance was not as good as everyone expected. He managed to pick up only 6 wickets in 6 games.

England skipper Jos Buttler praises Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes

No one can argue that Ben Stokes is already one of the greatest all-rounders the game has ever seen. He stepped up once again for the English side when they needed it the most. He kept his calm under pressure and scored an unbeaten fifty to take his team over the line.

“We managed to get away to a start which controlled the run-rate and we bat deep as well. And that man again, Ben Stokes, is there at the end. He is the ultimate competitor in anything he does and has the experience to bank on as well. He timed it perfectly, the impetus that he and Moeen Ali had just took it away from Pakistan,” Jos Buttler said in the post-match presentation.
