“Yeh T20 format nahi hai” – Mohammed Siraj opens up on his altercation with Litton Das

Mohammed Siraj, Virat Kohli give a fiery send off to Litton Das on Day 2

Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj revealed what he said to Bangladesh’s middle-order batter Litton Das before making a mess of his stumps on the second day of the ongoing first Test match. The two were involved in a heated argument which caught the attention of many.

However, Siraj had the last laugh as the very next delivery, he bowled Litton to send him back to the pavilion. He could only score 24 off 30 balls, including five fours. The wicket was a big blow to the Lions as they needed someone to show resistance and play a big knock to get them out of trouble.

When asked about the chat, Siraj said that he reminded the Bangladeshi batter to play sensible cricket as it was a Test match and not a T20 game. “No, nothing. I said, ‘Ye T20 format nahi hai, ye Test cricket hai (this isn’t T20, this is Test cricket. Play sensible cricket,),” he said.

After scoring a mammoth total of 404 with the bat, team India displayed an outrageous bowling show to dismantle their opponents. They started with a bang as Mohammed Siraj opened up the innings with the wicket of opener Najmul Hossain Shanto. Indian bowlers picked wickets at regular intervals to never let the hosts make a comeback in the game.

Mushfiqur Rahim was the highest run-getter for Bangladesh in the first innings with 28 runs to his name. Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the standout performer with a five-wicket haul. While Siraj got three wickets under his hat, Umesh Yadav and Axar Patel picked up one wicket each.

Bangladesh were bundled out for just 150, giving the Men in Blue too much lead. However, India didn’t impose the follow-on and took it as an opportunity to spend some time with the bat in the middle. The game is very much in control of KL Rahul-led India and they are all set to post a massive target on the board.
